This weekend the Orchestra London's Red Hot Weekends series will celebrate the hits of the 1980s Police band and its genre-bending front man and bassist Sting. With guest vocalists including Kathryn Rose and Neil Donell, both from Toronto, the concert will revisit such Police and Sting hits as Roxanne, Message in a Bottle, Every Breath You Take, Englishman in New York, Fields of Gold, Synchronicity 2, Spirits in the Material World and Be Still My Beating Heart.

The orchestra will be conducted by London music educator Mitch Tyler, who has been a professional musician since 1987. He is a bassist and conductor, as well as a long-time member of the Jeans 'n Classics Band. Jeans 'n Classics is a London-based group of rockers who understand orchestra culture and are committed to help in building a younger audience for symphony orchestras.

Sting's new Live In Berlin album is a high-quality, two-disc package featuring a live-recorded DVD and a CD with assorted song that span the artist's career, from his early Police rock hits, to his later songs as a solo act. The album is mixed and mastered perfectly, and it is a great way to get a sense of how his music has transcended its pop origins over time.

On the DVD, Sting performs live with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra at the O2 Arena during the Berlin leg of his Symphonicity Tour. The tour was started over a year ago and has been so successful that it is still ongoing. A unique aspect of the tour is that it features local musicians in every city that he visits. His performance of Roxanne is particularly impressive as it is embellished with solos on the cello and clarinet.

Sting, the former leader of the legendary Police rock band, has arrived in Lima from New York to give an unforgettable concert there. The concert will be three hours in length with a 15 minute intermission, and will feature Peru's national symphony orchestra as well. The singer left Jorge Chavez International Airport surrounded by a swarm of press, and raised his hand in greeting to all the people that recognized him at the terminal.

He then boarded a vehicle for the Mariott hotel in Miraflores where he will be staying, and planned a press conference for the next day at the hotel. Sting will be performing the best of his repertoire at the concert, as he is joined by guitarist Dominic Miller, bass player Ira Coleman, and percussionist David Cossio, among others.
